I'm just curious whether some of us own a 46DM Gold Class Balisong?! (http://www.benchmade.com/products/46DM). Where are all of those fine pieces?

Initially it was supposed to be a 25 piece run, but somebody at BM left half of the blades in acid for too long and destroyed them, so the final number went down and the price went up. At least that's what I heard.

I heard that at least one of these was seized or stolen by German customs.

This is probably the most elusive BM made. I'm sure there are others but nothing that draws such a demand for something so scarce.

Keep searching though - I never thought I'd get my hands on a 940DM, but that happened thanks to a trade with Wickedsharp. There were 100 of those made and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it'd be after searching for a few years.

That's a sad thing to hear--unless you're one of the 10 or 11 owners left .
