Again, prolly true if you are into it for the art of flipping, prolly better knives with straight heavier handles for twirling, but as a butterfly KNIFE, the 53 is just fine. The light curved handles are no impediment at all to opening and closing the knife and enhance the ergonomics once you do have it open.
