I emailed Benchmade about a month ago and they hinted heavily they were bringing the knife back. Jedi can you PM me the place where they were in stock?

Apparently BM made a small run of 42's to be sold to dealers in batches of 10 (or 12). Some dealers got 'em others didn't. Just email or call few stores and you'll find one, I'm sure. The link Jedi has is of no use anymore (read previous page, they are sold out), so you'll need to do some some research

I would expect prices to drop some after this release. Many of those who desired the 42 bought them at inflated prices already and are not that interested anymore and those who didn't will buy them now at other dealers and will probably have hard time selling them at $300+. I could be wrong though.

Just out of curiosity, what was the dealer selling the new ones for?

Due to popular demand, and to use up some excess parts inventory, an additional production run was done for the model 42. Check with your favorite Benchmade dealer to see if they have any in stock or ask them to contact their Benchmade rep. The model is still discontinued. The model 32 and 51 are currently available, and the new model 53 from Charles Marlowe will be shipping in the coming weeks.

Today you can find them where knifes work.
