This was great! I now have one NIB, and one I use the sh_t out of. (the one I have had for years)

2 days after I posted Roger has 'em in stock he still had 6 of the 10 on hand, He was selling (1) per customer to keep folks from trying to scavenge a few bucks re-selling them. The most any dealers got was 10 I believe.

That's why I rely on forum members so much.
When something new pops up, I want to know.
(I read about it here and called my Dealer)
And when I find something I PM others interested or post on a thread.

S90v Please......

Instead, BM's approach is: "Oh you want a knife? OK, well, we're going to release it in very limited quantities but we won't tell you where. By the time you figure it out, they'll be gone. Bwa-ha ha h ahaaaaa!!!"

you think benchmade cares about what we want? LOL

Confused

Some of these comments are understandable, as they've happened for years whenever we offer a limited production product, however we are a dealer based company and strive to make sure we have information and plans for a limited edition in place the best we can with our dealers first; hence why the forum may know before we say something here.

This forum has members that we know are our #1 fans, and we do care Smiler

I vote Retire the 42.

Keep it's value by not overproducing.

Then bring out new 52,55,5x ... models that look like the 42, but are Titanium liner sandwich design with the 51 latch improvement.
You can make Aluminum, Stainless and Brass to suit anyone's weight preference!

I agree with the whole retire the 42 thing. The knife's basically a legend now and putting it to rest will improve its legacy! A few variants on the 5x series would be great. A few new blade profiles and some different colored liners... Maybe SS liners for added weight. Who knows man the skies the limit! I'm probably just being selfish since I have my second 42 on the way... But come on! A new 5x would be awesome!
