I've seen info showing the 42AS T-Latch(anodized-serrated) being made with 12C27 Sandvic and with 440C. Anyone know how to tell the difference? I've never seen one marked with blade material.

I have 3 of these, 2 are not marked at all with blade steel, I believe these are 12C27 models. I have another that does have the 440C designation on the side of the blade with Benchmade over U.S.A. I should note that the earlier 2 have lighter handle anodizing than the later one. All of my anodized 42's are t-latch and part serrated.

I believe the 440c versions should be stamped with the "440c" designation, while the original Sandvic were not labeled with the steel type. __________________________________ sha-clack-clack |
